Stuff We DO take:
- Tires
- Lumber or scrap wood (Cut into 4’ lengths.) Quantity restricted to about 4’x4’x4’ stack per household
- Glass items (must be separated; boxed and not loose)
- Metal (must be separated into a different pile than other materials)
- Plastics (must be boxed or bagged; not loose) ***This is non-commingle household plastics; normal recyclables will not be picked up
- Appliances, Furniture, toilets, barbeques, hot water heaters, kitchen/bathroom sinks
- Large furniture items must be cut to 4’ x 4’ x 4’ – limit two per household
- Mattresses cut smaller than 4’ x 4’ x 4’ – limit two per household ***Mattresses larger than listed herein will not be picked up
** All items must be smaller than 4’ X 4’ X 4’ and weigh less than 150 pounds (Except refrigerators)
**All items must be placed at the curb or on shoulder of the road and easily accessible for loading into garbage trucks
Please DO NOT place items in a ditch. This is very hazardous and dangerous for Sweet Home Sanitation to service.
Stuff We DON’T take:
- Household garbage and recyclables (These items are part of your normal service)
- Household Hazardous Wastes, including: liquid waste, chemicals, solvents, paint (empty and dry paint cans are ok), paint thinners, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, medical waste, fluorescent light bulbs, propane or propane tanks, gas, diesel, antifreeze, oil, oil filters, household cleaners (liquid or powder), bleach, nail polish/removers
- All of these items are accepted at the Sweet Home Transfer Station during our annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) event scheduled for October 7th, 2022
- Unbundled or loose trash / garbage materials or items
- Yard debris, sod or timber
- Insulation
- Batteries
- Electronic Waste; examples include: T.V.’s, stereos, laptops, monitors, computer accessories.
